Allotts announce acquisition of Wilshaw and Ellis

Allotts Chartered Accountants this week announced the purchase of Wilshaw and Ellis, a two partner practice based in the centre of Doncaster. The acquisition will increase the turnover of Allotts’ Doncaster office by 30%.

The purchase is strategically important for Allotts who currently have two partners and around 20 staff based in Doncaster. The headcount for the Doncaster operation is now projected to increase to 30 by the end of this year.

Simon Wilshaw and Peter Ellis will remain with Allotts as consultants and their clients will also transfer to Allotts. Due to this expansion, Allotts are now planning a move to new premises in Doncaster in the first half of 2007.

Tony Grice, managing partner of Allotts, said: "This development represents a significant investment and a leap of faith for the practice. It also demonstrates our commitment to serving the Doncaster business community. The new combined practice will have a far stronger base in Doncaster which will be good news for both our clients and our staff.”

Peter Ellis, partner of Wilshaw and Ellis, said: "For some time now we have been looking for a suitable firm who would continue our level of service, but also be able to offer the expertise that will be necessary to meet the challenges of the future. We believe that in Allotts we have succeeded in finding a firm compatible with our philosophy, and feel that this is the right way forward for both the clients and the staff of the practice.”
